Hi there, welcome to my website!

It all started as a blog. Sol y Sevilla was an assignment created by my professor, Dr. Fillippelli, for me to document my study-abroad experience and share my learning process, all in my own artistic way. I wanted to improve my storytelling capabilities as well as my ability to curate a selection of photos. If you like to read about travel and see beautiful things, I'd recommend checking it out! I left the blogs posted to honor the origins of this website.

Now, I use this platform to showcase my up-and-coming mock advertisements. Figuring out this as a passion of mine was a long journey. Unlike my unbending certainty in that I wanted to attain a minor in French, I had many ups and downs deciding what profession I'd dedicate myself to. The options ranged from Event Management to Film, and I even considered Law. Then, one day when I was 19 years old, I saw a bright screen in Sephora displaying a makeup advertisement and thought, "Well, I would change this and that." This took me back to a memory of analyzing art with my father in childhood. I looked at a single stroke of paint on the canvas and said, "This is ridiculous! Why is the painting worth so much money?" My father replied, "This artist picked up the paintbrush, painted the stroke, made a reflection on what it meant, and talked to the right people. That is why he is successful." I asked him, "But the painting was so easy to make, even I could do it." He said, "Why haven't you?"

This taught me that I have to be the change I want to see in the world. Now, I have a wonderful medium to translate my artistic desires into tangible evidence for others to understand.

I hope to bring back the eternally effective nature of storytelling to advertisements, because in all of history, stories and narratives have been some of the most effective ways to spread messages. For this upcoming year, I am focusing on conveying my ideas in a visual format by making mock advertisements, and once I am done, they will be displayed on this page.

As for my values, being raised in the deep south had its special impacts on who I am. I value hospitality, family, and kind manners, but I also care about standing up for the disenfranchised, especially after seeing so much hatred and judgment against people who truly try to make a living for themselves. Because of this, I like to stay up-to-date on news, and I have volunteered at the Food Bank of East Alabama, Camp ASCCA, and Miracle League.

In high school, I was largely involved in the Debate Club and French Club. Before graduating, however, I had to look at what college I wanted to go to. Having been raised in Opelika and Auburn, Alabama, I always had Auburn University included in my prospects. After much deliberation between acceptances from the American University in Paris and the University of North Carolina's School of the Arts, I felt compelled to study in my hometown so that I could build life skills for my adulthood near my family. I yearn to branch out after I graduate, but for now, I enjoy contributing to my campus by being of consistent help to the organizations in which I have committed time to via officer roles, such as Director of Membership Development in LEAD Auburn, as well as Vice President of Communications in French Club.

In my future, I dream of spending ample time in New York City and Paris, as I love big cities and speaking French. I aim to find employment in the fashion or makeup industry, and, with an eager mind, I am searching for internship opportunities to kickstart my career.
